Costumes On A Budget
Keep in mind that safety and comfort go together. While a mask could make the costume, if it gets stinky by the third house into your trick or treating route or itches 10 minutes into a party, you could be headed home early. Wigs can itch, and aerosol products to color hair could smell so bad that the tummy ache starts before the over-eating. UNFAIR! Flashlights, comfortable shoes, and reflectors (even on the candy containers) will extend the fun. For children who need some pressure or feedback from their clothes, try wearing a long-sleeved tee or leotard underneath the outfit. If pressure is the enemy, use a soft garment as the foundation and accessorize with capes and crowns. For the truly costume-reluctant, try dressing as a spy or your own evil twin.
